Coastguard is New Zealand’s charity saving lives on the water. As one of 63 Coastguard units across Aotearoa, Coastguard Auckland, the busiest unit in the country, is looking for a Training Coordinator to join the team.

As a Training Coordinator, you will have a key role in providing professional guidance and support to our volunteers and enabling them to deliver high quality marine search and rescue across the Hauraki Gulf.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be working in close collaboration with a range of stakeholders, including Coastguard New Zealand and training providers to support and organise training.

What are we looking for from you?

  • Previous experience with a Learning Management System
  • Volunteer recruitment and candidate management
  • Ensuring all newly joined volunteers are inducted and provided training
  • Coordinating training nights and assisting volunteers with timely progression through training
  • An ability to record and track data

The ideal candidate will have/ be:

  • Brilliant organisation and administration skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good computer literacy with experience with Microsoft Office including Teams, Word and excel
  • Task-oriented, team-driven individual with good people engagement and relationship building skills
  • Passion for the maritime industry in line with Coastguard's values and goals
  • Training gap analysis understanding would be an advantage

This is a full-time role with a diverse range of tasks; core days of work are Monday to Friday with some after-hours work due to volunteer training, primarily for fortnightly training sessions as well as the occasional weekend.
